Cold Plunge
A cold plunge involves immersing your body in cold water. The shock of cold water helps reduce muscle inflammation & swelling by constricting blood vessels, which decreases metabolic activity & minimizes tissue damage. After the plunge, as the body warms up, blood flow returns to the muscles, helping flush out toxins & delivering oxygen & nutrients to promote healing. Athletes are taking the plunge to reduce soreness, enhance recovery time, & prevent injuries.
