Nick and I have been working out together from the very beginning of our relationship 16 years ago In high school. We have struggled to find gyms that support our jobs crazy hours so that we can be together doing what we love. Raise the Bar was just what we needed not just in our town but in our lives. It is a full experience when you walk in the doors. We have loved having a place to go that builds us up physically, mentally and spiritually. They really do “raise the bar”.-- Holly Lanthrip

My journey started before I found Raise The Bar.  In 2016 I was told by my doctor that I was a walking time bomb.  I was 37 years old, 370 pounds, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, pre diabetic and a BMI of over 50.

Being told that I could make my wife a widow at any moment was the wake-up call that I needed.

I started watching my diet and eating better, healthier foods.  I started just by walking for exercise, which changed completely when I started lifting.

I walked into the original Raise the Bar location after losing nearly 50 pounds and kept pushing towards my goals.

Fast forward to today... I'm down 100 pounds and all of the aforementioned health concerns have all been corrected.

I love Raise The Bar, especially the fact that it has 24 hour access.  I work in an office during the day and work as an on call EMT at night, so my workout times vary depending on how busy I am, and that convenience has been instrumental in my progress.  I've even recently talked my wife into starting training again!.... I started this journey to become a better version of myself, to have more energy, to be around longer for my kids, and to just be healthier. I was at my heaviest and felt miserable. I had a few health issues also that I'm happy to say are no longer as serious. I was on 3 different blood pressure meds, and I am now down to 1 that is a very low dose. My bloodwork looks much better and I am no longer retaining large amounts of fluid anymore. I have more energy and motivation than I've ever had and I have pushed myself farther than I ever thought I would go. I never thought I would enjoy going to the gym, but I love it! Most importantly, it's helping me get my kids into a healthier mindset. I am extremely thankful for this program for giving me my life back!!

Mondays flexibility (now Yin Yoga) class is a great way to get your week started. The instructor is energetic and creates an uplifting atmosphere for all. All the staff along with general gym membership at Raise The Bar always seem eager answer any questions that arise and help each other reach their personal fitness goals. Clean and friendly atmosphere.

I take the strength & flexibility class with Kimberly on Monday mornings. I ALWAYS feel so much better afterwards. This class works to help you stretch the areas needing deep facia release, breathing & stretching. Kimberly is so calm, relaxing in speech & helpful in offering modification. Take this class. I am absolutely loving the flexibility class on Monday mornings. Perfect start to my week. Kimberly is very knowledgeable and helps you with many options if you can’t get into a pose for whatever reason. I’m so excited to hear she might be having a second class. --Heidi Miles

Very clean clean! Heather is awesome! She made me feel very comfortable, walked me through the gym. Showed me how to use equipment. I feel more confident just walking in the place, knowing that if I have a question or need help it’s there!

Can’t say enough about the wonderful job Heather does here in our area. She takes the time to get to know each of her patrons personally and supports them each individually where they need it. Her one on one approach makes you feel valued and seen as a person not just a customer and her feedback encourages you, as a whole person, to reach the goals you’ve set for yourself. If you’re signing up for a challenge or just looking to improve on your own, raise the bar will definitely help with the process. --Melissa Snow
